Beginner Groups

(Skate UK 1-10)

Most ice rinks run beginner learn to skate courses.

These courses are often weekly classes run over 6 week periods. Duration of each class and numbers of skaters on the ice will vary from one rink to another.

Deeside Ice Rink offers the National Ice Skating Association (NISA) Skate UK programme.

At Deeside we have classes available for under 6's (Mini-toddlers), Family (all ages) and Adult only.

For more information on days, times, prices and how to register for a course check the Flintshire website or call the Leisure Centre direct on:

If the times available are not convenient for your schedule but you're still keen to start, you may wish to consider a private lesson (solo or shared with friends).

A 30 minute lesson with Marika or Vitaliy can be as little as £8 a head (based on 4-6 skaters sharing)

Individual Lessons & Advanced Groups

(NISA level 1 and up)

Individual lessons can be conducted on:

  • patch ice (access restricted by ability level).

Skaters make arrangements for these lessons directly with their teacher/coach of choice.

It is normal for ice skating coaches to require 24 hours notice of cancellation of a lesson.

Failure to do so usually means the full lesson fee must be paid.
